Position Summary: The Development Writer is responsible for researching, developing, writing, and managing grant proposals and reports to secure funding from foundations, corporations, government agencies, and other philanthropic sources. It is also responsible for writing narratives for special projects focused on advancing donor engagement and stewardship. This position works closely with program staff, finance teams, and organizational leadership to align funding opportunities with strategic priorities and ensure compliance with grant requirements.
The ideal candidate is a persuasive writer, strong project manager, and strategic thinker with experience in researching and identifying funding opportunities relevant to the hospital’s fundraising priorities and writing grants and proposals.
The person in this role will maintain a portfolio of prospects assigned as well as engage in efforts to grow the institutional team’s prospect pipeline. As part of their portfolio of special projects, this person will collaborate with the Marketing Team and others throughout SAH to develop projects inspiring current/prospective donors to give.
