Job summary

Allied Orion Group in Houston seeks an Associate of Development to support the full lifecycle of development activity, underwriting opportunities, and active deals from pursuit through lease-up, plus ongoing asset performance management across the portfolio.

The ideal candidate will build pro forma models, conduct market research, assist with financing, monitor construction against budget, and prepare investment materials for leadership, with travel for site visits as needed.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Construction Management, Business, Economics, or a related field.
2–5 years of experience in real estate development or asset management, with multifamily experience preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex financial modeling.
Strong understanding of development finance, capital stacks, and construction loan draws.
Working knowledge of entitlement and permitting processes and contract structures (AIA documents, GMP, lump sum).
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication and ability to present to leadership.
Highly organized with ability to manage multiple deals under deadlines.
Self-motivated team player, comfortable working independently and across departments.
Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and meetings.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain development pro forma models with construction cost estimates and cash flow projections.
Conduct market and submarket research to support investment theses.
Support due diligence, entitlements, and coordination with municipalities and consultants.
Prepare investment memoranda and materials for leadership review.
Assist with debt and equity financing by preparing lender packages.
Monitor construction progress against budget and schedule; attend site visits.
Submit monthly draw requests and track loan compliance.
Coordinate transition from construction to lease-up with property management.
Support sourcing new opportunities and maintain relationships with brokers and lenders.
Prepare quarterly and annual investor reporting materials with teams.
