Job description

Starting Rate: $29.88 per hour. After hire, pay increases depend on length of service, advancement, and contractual factors.

Duties

Performed under the supervision of the Building & Rental Services Manager or designee, duties include:

• Working independently with limited supervision.
• Having four (4) years of documented construction experience, or two (2) years in code inspections, or two (2) years in plan review.
• Completing CEUs for maintenance of licenses and certifications.
• Obtaining Act 407 (formerly Act 54) registration or applying within 30 days of hire.

Preferred Education, Training, and Experience:

• Two (2) years of property maintenance code experience.

Licensing Requirements (at entry):

• Obtaining AACE or ICC Housing certification within 6 months and having 4 years of documented construction experience as required.
• Act 407 registration or application within 30 days of hire.
• Meeting discipline-specific requirements available at the State of Michigan Admin Code.
• Valid Driver's License.

Physical Requirements

Must have the physical ability to climb, balance, operate vehicles, and maneuver in construction sites, including walking, standing, lifting objects up to 20 pounds, and working on uneven or slippery surfaces.
