Job description

Starting Rate: $29.88 per hour. Pay increases after hire depend on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.

Primary Duties:

  1. Work independently with limited supervision under the supervision of the Building & Rental Services Manager or designee.
  2. Possess four (4) years of documented construction experience or two (2) years of code inspections or plan review experience.
  3. Complete CEUs to maintain licenses and certifications.
  4. Obtain Act 407 (formerly Act 54) registration or apply within 30 days of hire to the State of Michigan.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years of property maintenance code experience.

Licensing Requirements (at entry):

  • AACE or ICC Housing certification within 6 months.
  • Four (4) years of documented construction experience as required by discipline.
  • Act 407 registration or application within 30 days of hire.

Physical Abilities: Ability to climb stairs, ladders, inclines, uneven surfaces; operate a motor vehicle safely; maneuver around construction sites on rough and slippery terrain; stand and walk for extended periods; lift objects up to 20 pounds; perform repetitive motions; and other physical tasks necessary for the role.
