This position reports to the Donor Engagement Director and works in-person at The River and in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and distribute donor acknowledgements, tax receipts, pledge reminders, and other donor correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate donor information, including contact information, giving history, pledges, recurring gifts, and other relevant records.
  • Provide administrative support for donor meetings, fundraising events, and other development activities as needed.
  • Respond to donor inquiries in a timely, professional, and service-oriented manner, provide accurate information, address concerns, and ensure a positive donor experience.
Revenue Coordination & Reconciliation:
  • Monitor charitable revenue recorded in the donor database and accurately match revenue recorded in QuickBooks.
  • Assist with regular reconciliation of contributions, deposits, pledges, recurring gifts, event revenue, and other development-related revenue.
  • Identify discrepancies between donor database records and QuickBooks and communicate with staff, research reasons, and provide documentation or information needed to resolve them.
  • Prepare bank deposits and support revenue tracking.
  • Coordinate ACH and electronic donation processing.
Development Administrative & Operations:
  • Maintain organized and accurate electronic development records and procedural documents.
  • Assist with development calendars, deadlines, reports, and recurring fundraising activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor information and exercise appropriate discretion in handling sensitive financial and personal information.
  • Assist with audits and other information requests related to charitable contributions and development records.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma is required; Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is preferred.
  • 3+ years’ data administration and data entry experience is required.
  • Previous experience using a CRM or donor management software is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is required.
  • Experience working in fund development, nonprofit administration, donor services, development operations, or a related field is preferred.
  • Commitment and passion for The River’s mission, vision, and goals.
  • Ability to work with a broad group of people.
  • Flexibility to work some occasional weekend and evening hours as needed to meet the goals of the organization.
  • Exceptional skills in organization, accuracy, attention to detail, computer proficiency, and adherence to deadlines.
  • High degree of trustworthiness and integrity along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, define and set priorities, and problem solve.
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, printers, and scanner.
  • High proficiency to communicate (verbal and written form) information clearly and understandably through interactions with staff and donors.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Ability to accept responsibility for actions, decisions, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and insured vehicle.
  • Background and DMV check are required.
