Job summary

Georgia Tech in Atlanta is seeking a Development Research Analyst to assist in identifying and evaluating philanthropic resources for prospective major gift donors. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of job-related experience.
  • Current CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days; current, nationally recognized certification in group fitness and/or personal training. Rates of pay may vary based on the type of activity the incumbent performs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with research (biographical, business and financial) directed at individuals and their related organizations using online databases, in-house files, library references, and other resources to identify donor prospects.
  • Prepare concise, confidential prospect profiles for review by senior development research staff and for use in solicitation efforts by Development Officers, senior administrators, and volunteers.
  • Propose prospect ratings based on philanthropic capacity and inclination as determined through research efforts.
  • Identify prospective major gift donors among alumni, parents, non-alumni, and corporations as prospects for future research and cultivation.
  • Maintain biographical data on prospective major gift donors.
  • Review publications for information to include in donor files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

This position interacts regularly with Office of Development staff, related foundation staff, representatives of academic and administrative offices, and external colleagues. The position typically advises and counsel Office of Development management and Development Officers. The position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare concise, confidential prospect profiles for review by senior development research staff and for use in solicitation efforts by Development Officers, senior administrators, and volunteers.

  • Identify prospective major gift donors among alumni, parents, non‑alumni, and corporations as prospects for future research and cultivation.

Proposed Salary

Proposed Salary: $47,670 - $64,480. Commensurate with education and experience.

Skills required include analytical and organizational skills; use of financial analysis techniques; oral and written communication; prioritization and multitasking; and use of office and specialized computer applications.
