The Office Of Development

Led by the Vice President for Development, Jim Hall, Georgia Tech’s Development Office consists of more than 100 professionals who are focused on securing transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs. For fiscal year 2024, the Development team's efforts resulted in over $243 million in new gifts and commitments in support of the Campaign for Georgia Tech, which will secure more than $2 billion in new commitments and gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations.

Job Summary

Provide general professional-level support to an assigned Development unit. Individual duties will vary depending on unit focus, but usually involve participation in planning, promotion, donor interaction, and record keeping and reporting. This position will interact on a consistent basis with potential donors, donors or donor reps; Office of Development officers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide input to and participate in the formulation of the unit development plan.
• Interact directly with donors and potential donors on various issues, which may include marketing, solicitation, estate planning, providing information, and stewardship.
• Maintain databases and generate reports, proposals, correspondence, etc.
• May make arrangements for donor, potential donor, and volunteer events and meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Required Experience: One to three years of job-related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Fundraising skills gained within a research university environment.
• Experience in front‑line Higher education/ Blackbaud donor management system.
• Strong expertise in writing, including drafting and editing development proposals, cases for support documents, or other fundraising collateral.
• Experience working with donors, donor reporting, and stewardship.
• Strong experience with event and meeting planning.
