Job summary

Samsung Electronics is seeking a seasoned procurement leader in the United States to implement local purchasing strategies, increase local spend, and manage KPI-driven performance. This onsite role emphasizes cost analysis, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional collaboration within a global environment.

The candidate will lead a team, develop procurement strategies for local parts, and review price contracts while aligning with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in Purchasing.
• Strong cost management and contract management skills; ability to develop strategy and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Implement purchasing strategy for local parts.
• Increase local spend based on cost analysis and reduce import spend to favor local sourcing.
• Plan yearly negotiations with local suppliers.
• Develop and reach KPI goals and establish counter measures by monitoring KPI performance.
• Review the team’s performance and provide regular feedback to team members.
• Review status of new model development and contracts price with the team.

Position Summary

Develop annual business plans for executing department strategies based on understanding the company’s strategy and business objectives (provide input in developing department strategies) manage KPI (Key Performance Index) to reach procurement goals, and direct innovation and operation of procurement organizations.

Role and Responsibilities

1. Implement purchasing strategy for local parts
2. Increase the local spend based on the Cost Analysis (in order to improve the cost of the product) Reduce import spend to increase proportion of spend locally based on cost analysis
3. Plan yearly negotiations with local suppliers
4. Develop and reach KPI goals and establish counter measures by reviewing and monitoring KPI performance
5. Review the team’s performance and give regular feedback to team members
6. Review the status of new model development & review price contracts with the team

Skills and Qualifications

Education : Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability.

Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing

Process knowledge, people management skills, negotiation skills, process innovation, supplier management, ability to develop strategy, training the team, Proficient in cost management, development process, cross functional teams approach, working on global environment, Contract management & ability to prioritize the work based on the situation
