Operating 100% remotely, the JOURNEY team hosts four annual in-person events, monthly virtual workshops, and personalized 1:1 training sessions.

This is an exciting moment to join JOURNEY, as we’re seeking mission-driven candidates eager to help shape our startup organization.

About the Role:

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-driven fundraising professional to lead revenue generation efforts for JOURNEY. This individual will drive our philanthropic and corporate partnerships strategy—securing new sources of funding through compelling storytelling, targeted outreach, strong relationship cultivation, and donor engagement events. The title and scope of responsibilities will be tailored based on the candidate’s experience, and may be structured at the Manager or Director level.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will…

  • Develop and implement strategies to secure major gifts and partnerships
  • Identify, research, and pursue prospective funders aligned with our mission
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of funders
  • Cultivate, solicit, and steward donor and partner relationships; serve as the primary point of contact for high-level funders and prospects
  • Lead the planning and execution of fundraising events and donor convenings
  • Draft compelling proposals, pitch decks, one-pagers, and fundraising collateral
  • Maintain accurate donor records and engagement activity in CRM
  • Analyze fundraising performance and support data-informed decision-making
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

To be successful at JOURNEY, you have…

  • A strong personal commitment to JOURNEY’s mission
  • A strategic and agile mindset with the ability to take initiative and deliver results in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative spirit that enables you to work effectively across remote teams and diverse stakeholders

To be successful in this role, you have…

  • 5–10+ years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, partnerships, or related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to raise funds and/or secure sponsorships/partnerships
  • Strength in relationship-building and stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to craft compelling fundraising collateral and impact reports
  • Experience planning donor-related events or engagements
  • Proficiency with CRM/database systems and fundraising tracking tools
  • Excellent knowledge of Google, MS SharePoint/Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The ideal candidate will also bring…

  • Experience in membership, alumni relations, college development, university development, or community engagement
  • Proven success building and managing communities of professionals
