Johnson C. Smith University seeks a Development Officer to advance its fundraising program through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. The position manages a portfolio of major gift, corporate, foundation, alumni, and friend prospects, working fully in-person in Charlotte, NC.
Reporting to the Executive Director for Development and Planned Giving, you will build donor relationships, prepare proposals, and ensure accurate CRM records to help meet annual goals.
This position is fully in-person (not remote or hybrid).
Under the supervision of the Executive Director for Development and Planned Giving, the Development Officer is responsible for supporting the University's fundraising efforts through the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors. The Development Officer manages a portfolio of major gift, corporate, foundation, alumni, and friend prospects to achieve fundraising goals. This position carries no supervisory responsibilities.
Support fundraising events, represent the University at assigned functions, contribute to development strategies, and participate in professional development.
Bachelor's degree and three to five years of fundraising, advancement, sales, business development, or related experience.Strong communication, relationship-building, organizational, CRM/database, and fundraising skills.
