Development Manager
Position Summary
Elijah House Academy (EHA) is a diverse and Christ-centered school community serving over 185 students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. The school is actively growing enrollment and evolving its educational philosophy toward a blend of classical and Charlotte Mason approaches. EHA recently completed a major capital improvement phase, opening a 12,000‑square‑foot multipurpose building.
The Development Manager is a team‑leader position that focuses primarily on administering the annual fund program, coordinating volunteer services, managing donor communications, and leading fundraising events.
This role is full‑time, 12‑month, and typically scheduled 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Position Reporting Responsibility
The Development Manager reports directly to the Director of Development and supervises the Advancement Database Coordinator.
Position Requirements/Qualifications

- Hold at least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or communications.
- Have experience in a development office (preferred).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee donation administration
- Donor data entry, gift tracking, and recognition.
- Review and report on donor data.
- Administer NAP and EISTCP tax credits (shared).
- Manage donors < $1,000.
- Inspire and coordinate volunteers
- Understand the volunteer landscape at EHA.
- Advertise and connect remarkable volunteers to opportunities.
- Track, oversee, and manage volunteer experiences, relationships, and appreciation.
- Administer volunteer applications and background checks.
- Seek new sources of funding and partnership among individuals, foundations, and churches.
- Communicate with the donor community
- Create and distribute quarterly newsletter and monthly e‑newsletters.
- Create, with the advancement team, the annual stewardship report, annual fund plan, year‑end plan, and communication plan.
- Update development and employment opportunities on the website.
- Other donor/community mailings.
- Manage EHA photography and videos (limited).
- Coordinate creation of videos when needed.
- Order printing materials and supplies.
- Events and special initiatives
- Annual gala – database tracking, vendors, volunteers, and communication pieces.
- Partner Day.
- Other events led by volunteers and the team.
- Assist a homeroom teacher with morning discipleship and student mentoring.
