Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in fundraising, volunteer coordination, and event planning.
- Must be professional, well-organized, and able to manage multiple competing priorities.
- Comfortable mixing office work with community events and willing to work Saturday mornings to accommodate volunteer groups when needed.
- Empathetic to our cause, with a passion for making a difference.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; able to lead presentations for volunteers and facilitate discussions with prospective donors.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience developing faith-based and nonprofit partnership programs.
- Advanced knowledge of creating social media content in Canva.
- Proficiency in utilizing CRM and email marketing tools for full-lifecycle donor management and communication.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a Development Manager who is as passionate about Habitat for Humanity’s mission as they are about building strong community partnerships. Under the supervision of the Director of Development, this role blends fundraising and volunteer coordination to strengthen relationships, maximize donor revenue, and increase volunteer engagement.
Development Duties:
- Effectively engage a faith-based donor base, from first-time supporters to long-standing partners, ensuring each interaction strengthens their connection to Habitat’s mission.
- Identify new faith-based organizations, research appropriate points of contact, and take the lead in developing and cultivating relationships with each organization.
- Assist in fully lifecycle planning and execution of the annual Toolbox Bash Gala and secure silent auction raffle items, in-kind donations, and sponsorships.
- Serve as a visible and active representative of Habitat’s mission through community events and partnerships, including local Chambers of Commerce, National Charity League chapters, and local ministries.
- Manage the social media calendar and create marketing materials in collaboration with the Director of Development.
- Author and publish Habitat NWHC’s monthly newsletter.
Volunteer Coordination Duties:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all volunteer-related activities, including recruitment, scheduling, and retention.
- Help organize and plan logistics for special events and office volunteers and execute our annual volunteer appreciation event.
- Provide orientation and training to all volunteers, ensuring required documentation and waivers are completed.
- Schedule and coordinate lunches for volunteer days, securing donated meals whenever possible.
Position Status: Salaried
Position Guidelines:
- Hours: 40 hours per week. Tuesday through Saturday is recommended to accommodate Saturday build-site needs, with flexibility for evening events.
