Brookfield Properties' Chicago office seeks a driven student to join our development finance team. You will assist with proforma preparation, budgeting, and reporting on our active projects, supporting decision making with rigorous analytics.

This internship provides exposure to a large portfolio and cross-functional collaboration with senior leaders, with bi-weekly pay and competitive benefits to help you grow in a fast-paced real estate environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled in College/University with an expected graduation between Dec 2027 & May 2028.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Accurately coordinates and assembles project financial reporting, including proforma updates and partner reporting.
• Assists Developers with proforma preparation and monitors development proformas for accuracy.
• Assists Development Managers with budgets and capital planning for the development pipeline.
• Supports completion of implementation and enhancement initiatives and identifies future needs.
• Evaluates economics on leasing deals and anchor agreements and impacts on returns.
• Communicates and presents analytical findings to senior leadership.

Position Overview

Responsibilities

• Accurately coordinates and assembles project financial reporting as required, including proforma updates, partner reporting, draw requests, internal and external company reporting and additional tasks as assigned
• Assists Developers with proforma preparation, monitors and verifies the integrity and accuracy of the development proformas; monitors and evaluates investment decisions throughout the project
• Assists Development Managers with all budgets, including corporate departmental budgets and capital planning for the development pipeline
• Assists with the completion of the implementation and enhancement initiatives, as well as identify future needs
• Evaluates economics on leasing deals and anchor agreements, focusing on the impact to project returns
• Communicate and present to Sr Leadership analytical and research findings supporting retail development pipeline

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Currently enrolled in College or University with a graduation date between Dec 2027 & May 2028
• Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
• Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines
• Excellent interpersonal, creative, analytical, and problem-solving ability
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects and tasks simultaneously

Compensation

• Salary type: Non-Exempt
• Pay Frequency: Bi-weekly
• Hourly Pay Range: $22.50
