Job summary

The American Heart Association in Las Vegas, NV is offering a part-time internship on our Development Team supporting Heart Challenge, Go Red for Women and Heart Ball campaigns. You will assist with planning, execution, and follow-up of fundraising initiatives while gaining hands-on experience in a nonprofit setting.

This 20-hour per week program runs 1/25/2027–5/7/2027, with hybrid work from our Las Vegas office and home.

Qualifications

• Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, marketing, nonprofit management, event planning, public relations.
• Must be comfortable with vendor outreach (phone calls & emails to vendors & donors).
• Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
• Experience with event planning for a non-profit or for profit organization.
• Experience with data entry and data management.
• Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
• Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Canva.
• Required: Reliable WiFi Connection and reliable transportation.
• Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development and implementation of fundraising activities, logistics, and administrative support for the Las Vegas market.
• Support fundraising campaigns including Go Red for Women, Heart Challenge, and Heart of Las Vegas.
• Assist with pre-campaign planning, day of event execution, and post-campaign wrap-up projects.
• Execute external calls and emails to donors, volunteers, and 3rd party vendors.
• Work within event support systems to help manage data entry and run reports.
• Develop and update marketing materials for campaigns including save the dates, invitations, social media posts, volunteer rosters, and other collateral.
• Assist with volunteer management including meetings (in-person and virtual).
• Conduct prospect research to generate new leads and compile information for fundraising campaigns.
