Job summary

Best Buddies International is seeking a Coordinator, Development to collaborate with the State Director on securing sustainable funding for statewide programs through fundraising events, campaigns, and donor relations.

The role involves planning, donor cultivation, and external communications to support Best Buddies’ mission and community impact. Requires travel, evenings/weekends, and strong project management and presentation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or at least four years relevant experience.
• 1-3 years of fundraising experience, including special events planning, donor cultivation and external communications.
• Strong project management skills, including planning, analysis, attention to detail, problem-solving, and ability to effectively multitask.
• Must be adaptable and able to quickly and effectively develop and balance multiple relationships and get results from a variety of people.
• Strong presentation and public speaking skills with the ability to exert influence and articulate the mission and goals.

Responsibilities

• Support State Director in managing and implementing development initiatives to meet statewide revenue goals.
• Responsible for special event logistics including vendor management, contract compliance, guest lists, and donor relations.
• Develop and manage donor stewardship, processing gifts and thank you letters.
• Identify and cultivate volunteers for solicitation and donor engagement.
• Collaborate on messaging for digital appeals including Giving Tuesday and year-end campaigns.
• Research grant opportunities and assist with applications and reports.
• Construct prospect lists of potential donors to meet revenue goals.
• Maintain donor tracking systems and generate fundraising reports.
