Job summary

St. Vincent's in Santa Barbara is seeking a Development Events Manager to oversee the Development Department, including fundraising, donor relations, social media, and special events. The role may require evening and weekend work and involves representing the Mission and Values of St.

Vincent’s to public entities. Responsibilities include planning and executing major events, donor communications, grant-related tasks, and maintaining donor databases with confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, journalism, or a related field.
• Two years of administrative experience in a nonprofit environment preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; outstanding customer service.
• Ability to handle confidential donor/client information.
• Team player with strong organizational skills.
• Excellent writing, editing, transcription, and word processing abilities.
• Ability to read/write/communicate effectively in English.
• Strong time management and detail orientation.
• Self-starter able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute St. Vincent's Annual Golf Charity Classic and Annual Fashion Show & Luncheon.
• Coordinate silent auction procurement, sponsorship materials, event communications, and logistics.
• Create marketing collateral and coordinate Annual Appeals campaigns.
• Update social media and enhance visual marketing materials.
• Process and record all incoming donations with privacy and security in mind.
• Serve as primary contact for sponsors, vendors, donors, volunteers, and community partners for major fundraising events.
• Support Capital Campaign initiatives with materials, reporting, and events.
• Assist in planning archival exhibits and historical events.
