Job summary

Alpert Jewish Family Service in West Palm Beach seeks a Manager of Special Events & Development Projects to plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate fundraising events that advance our mission and community impact.

You will support the Development team, manage event logistics, donor engagement, and reporting while collaborating with Marketing, Programs, Finance, and Leadership to ensure exceptional donor experiences and adherence to budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of three to five years of progressively responsible nonprofit event management, fundraising, donor relations, project management, hospitality, development operations, or database administration.
• Strong organizational, communication, and donor stewardship abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute major events including galas, luncheons, and donor engagement activities.
• Develop detailed event timelines, production schedules, and project plans.
• Coordinate venue logistics, catering, decor, AV, entertainment, transportation, and vendors.
• Manage event registration, guest communications, seating, badges, and check-in procedures.
• Lead outreach to identify, cultivate, and secure donor contributions and in-kind gifts.
• Prepare event budgets and monitor expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
• Conduct post-event evaluations and provide improvement recommendations.
• Maintain event planning documents, contracts, vendor records, and archives.
• Support donor cultivation, stewardship, and recognition activities.
• Assist with sponsorship fulfillment and donor acknowledgments.
• Track registrations, RSVPs, sponsorships, revenue, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity.
