Job Title: Development Engineer (Project Engineer)

Working Pattern: Full-time

Location: Indianapolis, IN

As a JSF Development Engineer (Project Engineer), you will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for delivering engineering IPT objectives defined by the program. This role involves planning and executing technical projects for propulsion systems components, with responsibilities including maintaining budgets and delivery schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage project technical and schedule needs, leading multidisciplinary teams to achieve milestones.
  • Execute cost management, planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and continuous improvement tasks.
  • Facilitate team completion of project tasks in accordance with processes and regulations.
  • Develop and define technical solutions at component and system levels.
  • Plan and structure complex work scopes, ensuring compliance with requirements.
  • Oversee subcontractors and delivery of hardware and sub-systems.
  • Report on technical and business results of projects.
  • Communicate complex projects effectively with stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years in design or manufacturing engineering OR
  • Master’s degree with 0+ years OR
  • PhD with 0+ years, in relevant engineering fields.
  • Must be eligible for security clearance; US citizenship required.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of turbo-machinery, gas turbines, and mechanical systems.
  • Training in project management, systems engineering, requirements management, or verification methods.
  • Familiarity with process management (IPPR) and manufacturing processes (FPA, FAIR).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
