Butler America Aerospace, LLC. is seeking a Development Engineer in Burbank, CA with 6+ years of experience to design, develop, and maintain embedded software components using C/C++ and model-based tools such as SCADE/Simulink.

The role requires analyzing requirements, performing testing, and supporting the development lifecycle across cross-functional teams. 6-7 years of experience and an Engineering degree are required, with knowledge of DO-178C/DO-331 or ISO 26262 considered a plus.

Detailed Job Description:

Development Engineer

6-7 years of experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain embedded software components using C/C++ and model-based development tools such as SCADE/Simulink.


• Analyze system and software requirements, and implement solutions in compliance with coding and quality standards.


• Perform unit testing, debugging, and integration testing to ensure software reliability and performance.


• Support software build, integration, and configuration management activities across the development lifecycle.


• Collaborate with systems, verification, and hardware teams to resolve technical issues and achieve project milestones.


• Contribute to technical documentation, peer reviews, and compliance activities for safety-critical software development.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of embedded systems, RTOS concepts, and communication protocols (CAN, SPI, I2C, UART).


• Experience with version control, static analysis, and test automation tools.


• Familiarity with aerospace/automotive development standards such as DO-178C, DO-331, or ISO 26262 is an added advantage.
