Job summary

WonderTrek Children’s Museum in Baxter, Minnesota, seeks a Development and Engagement Manager to lead donor relations, manage campaigns, and drive community partnerships. You will work within a lean team to advance fundraising, track metrics, and build a sustainable development program that supports play-based learning.

The role requires relationship-building, data-driven decision making, and supervising a part-time Volunteer Engagement Specialist.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in non-profit development, volunteer management, or community organizing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Museum Studies, Communications, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Proven hands-on experience managing Humanitru, or similar non-profit CRMs or donor databases.
  • Competency in reading marketing data and interpreting digital conversion metrics.
  • Strong digital literacy with Google Workspace and related admin systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead donor relations and administer the capital campaign strategy to advance fundraising goals.
  • Develop cultivation pipelines and tailor engagement opportunities for donors and volunteers.
  • Maintain donor data integrity in the CRM and track contributions and interactions.
  • Coordinate acknowledgments and tax recognition workflows for all gifts.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prepare staff and board KPI reports and campaign analysis.
  • Supervise the Volunteer Engagement Specialist to align regional engagement with fundraising goals.
