Job summary

The University of South Carolina in Columbia seeks a Director of Development for the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management to lead major gifts fundraising and donor relations. This role reports to the Lead Senior Director of Development within USC Development and HRSM, coordinating a comprehensive development program with a focus on major gifts.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a job related field and 4+ years of related experience.
Experience in major gift/development in higher education.
Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to travel, work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Serves as Prospect Manager for potential donors with capacity over $100,000 with emphasis on major gifts for HRSM.
Identify, cultivate, and solicit a gift portfolio that benefits HRSM priorities.
Uses Blackbaud CRM to coordinate and document donor relationships and opportunities.
Solicits prospective donors in coordination with central offices and relevant gift teams.
Develops plans of work with fundraising strategies, campaigns, and stewardship.
