Job summary

Footprint Project in New Orleans, LA seeks a Development Director to lead and grow fundraising efforts, blending strategy with hands-on grant writing and donor stewardship. You’ll shape a holistic development plan across foundation grants, government funding, corporate partnerships, and individual giving.

As a senior leader reporting to the CEO, you’ll set revenue goals, build and supervise the team, and stay hands-on with proposals, budgets, and reporting.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years nonprofit development experience with grants.
• Experience supervising and developing staff.
• Budget literacy: comfortable building, reading, and managing grant budgets.
• Exceptional writing and verbal communication skills for proposals and funder materials.
• Strong project management skills and CRM proficiency.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead a comprehensive development strategy across foundation grants, government grants/contracts, and corporate partnerships/sponsorships.
• Serve on the senior leadership team and contribute to organization-wide strategy and planning.
• Set annual revenue and funder engagement goals with the CEO; track progress and report.
• Supervise the Communications Coordinator and align donor communications with development goals.
• Help build the development team as the organization grows.
