Job description

Position description

Global Philadelphia seeks a contracted (15-20 hours per week) Development Coordinator to support fundraising from sourcing to administration. This role will assist with day-to-day efforts to attract and retain corporate and individual donors as we grow our donors and membership program.

We are a nonprofit organization positioning Philadelphia internationally. The work of the Development Coordinator directly facilitates the resources needed to achieve our mission of amplifying Philadelphia as a global city and sharing its World Heritage City status with the community. We offer community programming and two major civic events annually.

Responsibilities will include:
  1. Assist with seeking new investors and stakeholders.
  2. Research stakeholders to identify key contacts and priorities.
  3. Coordinate outreach to investors and partners.
  4. Schedule and attend meetings with partners and key contacts.
  5. Draft and review letters of interest and proposals.
  6. Coordinate meetings and updates with the President and Chair of the Board.

The Development Coordinator should manage multiple deadlines and ensure commitments to partners and collaborators are met. This position reports to the President. While no candidate may possess all qualifications, ideal candidates will have many of the following skills and experiences:

  • Knowledge of fundraising, partner, and sponsorship management.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Project management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced hybrid environment, multi-task, and follow through.
  • Strong understanding of systems and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to develop language for stakeholder proposals.
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Global Philadelphia.

Previous experience in the greater Philadelphia area is preferred. Knowledge or passion for areas relevant to Global Philadelphia, such as cultural heritage, economic development, education, global affairs, or sustainability, is a plus.

Our team is committed to our mission. We serve an engaged membership, including nearly 6,700 email subscribers, 296,000 website visitors annually, and over 102,000 social media followers.

This is a part-time, hybrid-remote position based from our Center City location, requiring dedication and passion for nonprofit work.
