ASU Foundation in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Development Coordinator for ASU Health to provide professional and operational support to the fundraising team. You will plan meetings, manage budgets, and handle donor correspondence while coordinating complex scheduling and travel as needed.

The role emphasizes data accuracy in Salesforce and Workday, reporting, and maintaining confidentiality. A related bachelor's degree and 1–3 years of administrative experience are preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the ASU Health fundraising team, including setting meeting agendas and notes.
  • Support development events and donor-related activities for assigned units.
  • Assist with budget monitoring, reporting, and ensuring procedures compliance.
  • Prepare fundraising and Workday/Salesforce reports as directed.
  • Input information into Salesforce and other systems, and assist with meetings and travel planning.

Job description

Development Coordinator, ASU Health

The Development Coordinator, ASU Health is responsible for providing professional and operational support ). Key areas of responsibility include planning meetings and away days, monitoring and assisting with budgets, donor correspondence, complex scheduling assistance and supporting related functions.

What you’ll do
  • Manages the operations of the ASU Health fundraising team, including setting meeting agendas, booking speakers, taking notes and following up on action items. This includes bi-monthly team meetings, monthly pipeline meetings, donor strategy meetings, anchor work days, and annual away days.
  • Supports development related events for their assigned units, such as the ASU Health football suite an annual event and board meeting, and unit specific events when needed.
  • Stays informed and up to date on organizational policies and procedures that directly impact role, unit/department, and organizational success and helps the fundraising team meet goals, deadlines and stay in compliance with new procedures
  • Provides quarterly and monthly budget analysis for department(s)/unit team(s); reviewing past expenditures and future planned expenses, and prepares reports for budget managers
  • Prepares fundraising reports and Workday reports as directed, and assists with projects as assigned
  • Inputs information into Salesforce, including but not limited to contact reports, and opportunities as directed by leadership
  • Provides advanced planning to support complex and highly varied internal and external meetings working with Technology and Solutions as needed
  • Screens telephone calls and visitors, to resolve routine and complex inquiries
  • Prepares presentations, correspondence, reports or other documents from rough draft, notes, or tapes
  • Makes travel reservations and itineraries as needed
  • Pays invoices, opens, and distributes the mail and coordinates signing of documents as directed
  • Maintains a working knowledge of fundraising activities and proactively support them with electronic systems; establish strategies and plans for the maintenance, use, and development of the database that will benefit users and programs
What you’ll need
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills, able to balance multiple issues in a fast-paced environment, with a high attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned tasks
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; possesses a high degree of discretion, judgement, tact, and poise
  • Ability to make independent judgements and coordinate office details in conjunction with policies and procedures
  • Collaborative style coupled with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with little supervision
  • Ability to routinely interact with individuals at all levels of the ASU Foundation, Enterprise Partners, and the University
  • Ability to take initiative, and consistently respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet the current needs of the department/unit
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect information
  • Knowledge of office and administrative practices and principles
  • Knowledge and skill in accounting and budgeting procedures and technique, and web-based financial systems
  • Advanced computer skills in a variety of Windows-based computer programs and technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and database management
  • If this position is assigned to the Athletics Department, either administratively or functionally, compliance with all NCAA rules and regulations is required
Relevant qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, or currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program
  • One (1) to three (3) years professional experience in an administrative support capacity, providing coordination and assistance of operational activities, includes at least one (1) year of database management experience
  • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
    Preferred education and experience
    • One (1) to (3) years of experience in an administrative support capacity, providing coordination and assistance of operational activities, preferably in a not-for-profit or development environment
    • Experience with Salesforce and Workday
    Preferred skills and abilities
    • Knowledge of fundraising and prospect management databases
