The Development Coordinator advances the Green Lake Association’s mission by leading annual giving programs, stewarding donors and members, and supporting fundraising initiatives. This role plays a critical part in growing annual support, strengthening donor relationships, and sustaining membership engagement. Additional responsibilities may include supporting development operations, assisting with fundraising events, and managing a portfolio of mid-level major gift prospects.

Reports To: Director of Development

Responsibilities
  • Annual Giving & Membership (40%) Plan, execute, and evaluate annual giving campaigns through mail, email, and digital channels.
  • Develop strategies to grow membership participation and retention.
  • Create compelling appeals and acknowledgments.
  • Support reporting within the annual Impact Report.
  • Track and analyze annual giving and membership performance metrics.
  • Stewardship & Donor Relations (30%) Implement stewardship plans to recognize and thank donors at all levels.
  • Coordinate donor communications, including development newsletters, updates, and personalized outreach.
  • Support cultivation activities and recognition for loyal supporters and members.
  • Database & Development Operations (15%) Assist with data integrity, cleanup, and record maintenance in the donor database (DonorPerfect).
  • Generate donor reports, mailing lists, and campaign performance summaries.
  • Help plan and execute fundraising and donor engagement events, including the Annual Meeting, annual gala and campaign gatherings.
  • Coordinate event logistics, guest lists, and follow-up communications.
  • Mid-Level Major Gifts (5%) Manage a small portfolio of mid-level prospects to cultivate, solicit, and steward gifts.
  • Assist the Director of Development with prospect research and strategy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or nonprofit development.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with donor databases (DonorPerfect preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

Work environment & physical demands
  • This position is primarily office-based, with work occurring in a shared, professional space within a community center located near Green Lake. The role involves extensive use of a computer for data entry, report generation, and communications.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds (e.g., event supplies, boxes of materials).
  • Activities may include bending, reaching, climbing a step stool or ladder, and standing for extended periods, particularly during event set-up and execution.
  • A valid driver’s license is required to travel to meetings, donor visits, and events.
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours are required for events and peak fundraising activities.
  • The position requires the ability to work at a desk for long periods and to communicate clearly in person, over the phone, and via email.
Compensation

This is a full-time, salaried position with an annual pay range of $52,000–$60,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
