Job summary

Connect Senior Services in Upland, CA is seeking a Development Coordinator to oversee our development program, solicit gifts, plan events, and prepare fundraising materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s or relevant certification is a plus.
• 1–3+ years in development with fundraising or events focus.
• Strong project management skills in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; Spanish or another language a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically.

Responsibilities

• Project manage peer-to-peer fundraising events for the organization
• Oversee fundraising efforts including product sales, auctions, and donations
• Partner with CEO to generate organizational collateral
• Steward volunteers and advocates for fundraising events
• Manage donor portfolio using CRM; maintain data and reports
• Act as a thought leader in development and innovate approaches
• Collaborate with CEO and team to implement development initiatives
• Cultivate relationships with donors, businesses and churches
• Maintain development communications and social media platforms
• Engage in development and leadership training
• Participate in capital campaigns as needed

As our development coordinator you will oversee our development program:you will solicit gifts, plan and hold events, develop fundraising materials, and you will meet frequently with current and potential donors. Working each day to connect donors’ philanthropic interests with our ministry priorities, you will blend your professional knowledge, relationship building skills and talent with philanthropic strategies. The development officer will play a key role on our development program to help identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts to Upland Manor.

Responsibilities

• Project manage peer-to-peer fundraising events for the organization
• Assume full responsibility for various fundraising efforts including product sales, obtaining items for sale in auctions and acquiring donations
• Partner with CEO to generate organizational collateral
• Steward volunteers and elevate advocates to supporting fundraising events
• Manage individual donor portfolio utilizing CRM; maintain accurate data and run reports from system
• Acts as a thought leader in the development area and contributes new and innovative approaches or ideas
• Works closely with CEO and other team members to strategize & implement Development initiatives
• Cultivate relationships with donors (small and large), businesses and churches.
• Maintain development communications and social media platforms.
• Engage in regular development and leadership training.
• Participate and manage capital campaigns as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s or relevant certification, a plus
• 1-3+ years of professional experience in the development field, preferably event-, or individual-giving focused
• Advanced project management skills and ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment with a solid track-record of following through on commitments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; written and verbal fluency, Spanish, or another language, a plus
• Willing and able to travel domestically, on occasion
