Job summary

SACRAMENTO CHILDREN'S HOME is seeking a Development Coordinator to oversee mid-level donors and key programs. You will meet with donors, provide tours, and support grant research and sponsorship solicitations to advance the agency’s mission.

You’ll work closely with the Director of Philanthropy to grow the Crisis Nursery Sustainers Circle and other priority initiatives while coordinating digital fundraising with the marketing team. A degree and fundraising experience are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of fund development/fundraising experience preferred.
  • Experience with grant proposals, donor solicitations, and event sponsorships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage donor outreach and stewardship for mid-level donors.
  • Assist with grant research and corporate/foundation proposals.
  • Oversee event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and donor tours.

The duties and responsibilities associated with this position may evolve as the needs of the Philanthropy department and the agency change; the ability to work in a flexible, ever-changing environment is essential.DUTIES:Fund Development, Donor Outreach & StewardshipWork closely with the Director of Philanthropy on key philanthropic priorities to achieve the philanthropic goals of the agency.Assist Director of Philanthropy with donor related outreach, including making donor requests, attending community events, speaking on behalf of the agency and providing facility tours.Assist Director of Philanthropy in securing event sponsorships, in-kind donations, and in-kind services for the organization.Work with the Marketing Manager to implement the Philanthropy department’s digital fundraising plan through email campaigns, social media and other digital platforms, identifying new digital fundraising opportunities as they arise.Oversee the Crisis Nursery Sustainers Circle Program and ensure donor retention and continued growth of this monthly giving program.Work with the Director of Philanthropy to identify new creative opportunities to raise funds for the three highest needs programs – the Crisis Nursery, Residential Program and Family Resource Centers.Corporate & Foundation Gifts & Grant ManagementConduct grant research to identify new funding opportunities that align with the organization’s mission and funding needs.Assist Director of Philanthropy with the identification, writing and editing of corporate and foundation grant proposals. Oversee a portfolio of corporate and foundation grants.Attend and participate in other SCH activities as required.Attend and/or work evening and weekend events as needed.LOCATION: 2750 Sutterville Rd. Sacramento, CA 95820SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. With ability to work outside normal work schedule as needed.SALARY: $31.50 - $35.43 per hour, to startEducation and Experience:Driving is an essential function of this job, and as such, employees in this position will be required to furnish their own vehicle to be used in the course of employment. A valid CA driver’s license and minimum CA insurance coverage is required.Must be at least 21 years oldA Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Public Service, Development, Business Administration, Sales or a similar related field is required.At least 3 years of practical experience working in the fund development and/or fundraising field in a similar capacity is preferred.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.Able to report to work on a regular and reliable basis.Experience in fund development including grant solicitations, seeking event sponsorships and conducting donor solicitations and meetings.Experience with public speaking, making presentations and leading meetings.Familiarity with Blackbaud Raisers Edge NXT, Greater Giving and Online Express.Ability to operate independently, with excellent project management skills and follow-through as well as being an active member of the team.Ability to be proactive in creative problem solving, while maintaining the integrity and core values of the organization.Excellent interpersonal communication skills as exhibited by the ability to easily convey, whether through written word, public speaking, or electronic media, the needs and goals of the department and Agency.Must be able to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including individual supporters, corporate donors and Board members.Advanced level skill with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently.Ability to work nights, weekends, and outside of a normal work schedule as needed.Able to report to work on a regular and reliable basis.BENEFITS: Excellent benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life and accident insurance, short and long-term disability plans, retirement plan with company match, paid vacation, sick leave, 11 paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, professional development and career advancement opportunities.TO APPLY: Qualified employees must submit a completed Request for Promotion or Transfer form along with their resume to Human Resources.
