Job summary

MASS, located in Boston, seeks a Development Coordinator to advance fundraising by maintaining Salesforce data integrity and supporting a high-performing Development team. The role focuses on data-driven strategy, donor records, and timely reporting to leadership.

Hybrid position requiring in-person work at our Boston office at least 3 days per week, with responsibilities spanning database management, reporting, and donor engagement. Salary range reflects market norms for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in development, operations, database management, or related field preferred.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Strong proficiency in Google Suite with the ability to analyze and present data effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain attention to detail, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support donor-facing materials and proposals.
  • Comfort working collaboratively across teams in a dynamic, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update Salesforce dashboards and tracking tools to monitor pipeline activity and fundraising performance, ensuring timely and accurate data entry.
  • Create, update, and audit database records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Generate and analyze reports, queries, and prospect lists in Salesforce and Excel to inform fundraising strategy and track monthly KPIs.
  • Partner with the Director of Development to develop monthly and quarterly KPI reports using Salesforce data.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify and qualify institutional, corporate, and individual giving opportunities.
  • Coordinate internal information flow across design and administrative teams to support materials for strategic fundraising initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director of Development, Senior Principal of Strategic Partnerships, and Co-Executive Director, to track proposals, solicitations, and follow-up actions, ensuring consistent movement of prospects through the pipeline.
  • Support prospect management efforts, including tracking engagement strategies, moves management, and donor interactions from 3 fundraisers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in Salesforce, including contact reports, address updates, bounced email cleanup, and activity tracking.
  • Provide administrative coordination for corporate sponsorships for events, including tracking commitments and fulfillment of benefits.
  • Create personalized cultivation and solicitation materials as needed including proposals, reports, and outreach.
  • Coordinate logistics for key fundraising events, including Abundant Futures / Live, MASS’s flagship convening at the ICA.
  • Support planning and execution of donor dinners and high-touch engagement opportunities.
  • Manage invitation lists, RSVP tracking, and guest communications to ensure a seamless and thoughtful donor experience.

Job description

The Development Coordinator plays a key role in advancing MASS’s fundraising efforts by supporting donor engagement, maintaining data integrity, and providing streamlined operational support to a high-performing Development team. As the team’s primary leader for database management, this position ensures the accuracy, usability, and strategic value of MASS’s Salesforce system. Working closely with senior leadership and the Development team, the Coordinator supports the successful execution of fundraising strategies, internal reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

This is hybrid position expected to work in person from our Boston office a minimum of 3 days per week.

Core Responsibilities
