Job summary

Philly Community Wireless seeks a Development and Communications Manager to drive fundraising, grant writing, and community engagement in a hybrid role (75% on-site, 25% remote). The position oversees communications, events, and donor relations while supporting staff and volunteers.

You will craft compelling grant content, manage donor databases, and collaborate with the Executive Director to advance PCW’s mission of expanding internet access for Philadelphia communities.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in development, fundraising, and community organizing
• Strong written and verbal communication for fundraising and marketing materials
• Experience with donor databases/CRMs and financial records
• Ability to work independently and in a small cooperative team
• Willingness to lead meetings and direct activities per conduct policies
• Curious, proactive, and able to provide/receive constructive feedback

Responsibilities

• Design and implement development strategy and fundraising plans (35%).
• Develop grant proposals, budgets, and narrative reports.
• Manage donor relationships and campaigns, including major gifts.
• Track fundraising outcomes and assist budgeting processes.
• Lead organizational communications and marketing efforts across channels.
• Build media relations and represent PCW in interviews and events.
• Plan and coordinate community events and volunteer activities.
• Supervise staff and volunteers, including coordinating with apprentices.
