Job summary

University of Chicago Hillel is seeking a Manager of Development and Communications to lead fundraising operations, manage annual campaigns, coordinate events, pursue grants, and tell Hillel's story to students, alumni, parents, and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will shape a comprehensive communication strategy, grow donor relationships, oversee the development database, and collaborate across teams to advance campus Jewish life.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• 2–5 years in development or fundraising and/or communication, marketing experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Ability to build connections and exercise discretion.

Responsibilities

• Maintain annual campaign and donor communications calendar.
• Cultivate and steward a portfolio of donors.
• Coordinate outreach to alumni and parents.
• Draft donor correspondence and manage direct appeals.
• Administer development database, data entry, and gift processing.
• Prepare fundraising reports for internal and donor audiences.
• Develop and implement digital storytelling across social platforms.
• Maintain Hillel website and create content/assets.
• Draft press releases and manage brand communications.
• Collaborate with leadership on campus communications and issues.
• Monitor metrics and align communications to segments.
