Job summary

Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries, Inc. seeks a Program Specialist – Development/Associate Chaplain to support fundraising and spiritual guidance for residents and staff. The role emphasizes trauma‑responsive care and Sanctuary practices within Baptist values.

The position requires leadership, donor relations, and the ability to provide religious education, pastoral care, and community outreach on campus and in surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in religion/Divinity preferred or Chaplaincy certification.
• 25 years of age or older.
• Outstanding oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Active member of a cooperating Southern Baptist church.
• Ability to manage time, set priorities and organize routines.
• Basic computer skills; learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Cultivate relationships within community via phone, visits, & written contact.
• Achieve minimum annual fundraising and contact goals as assigned.
• Prepare donor acknowledgment letters for major gifts.
• Coordinate and assist with weekly opportunities for worship for clients on campus.
• Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to clients and staff.
• Represent the agency at public events as appropriate.
