A leading university in New York seeks a Development Associate for the Feerick Center for Social Justice. The role focuses on enhancing fundraising efforts through strategic planning, donor engagement, and event management. Title of Position
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Feerick Center for Social Justice and the Executive Director of Development and Strategic Initiatives, the Feerick Center Development Associate will work solely on supporting the Feerick Center to ensure that fundraising across the mid-level and bottom of the gift pyramid increases through identification/cultivation/solicitation by staff and volunteer leadership.
The Development Associate will collaborate with the Feerick Center and the Dean in strategic planning for Feerick Center fundraising, including establishing fundraising goals for the Center and working to achieve those goals; open communication between the Development Associate and both the Feerick Center and the Development Office is essential for the success of this role. The Development Associate will manage all targeted solicitation for the Feerick Center audience, the creation of cultivation events, and the stewardship of existing donors. The Development Associate will provide operational support for the Feerick Center and assist with special project initiatives.

Additional Functions
Coordinates all Feerick Center fundraising meetings: scheduling, agenda, preparation of materials, taking meeting notes, ensuring follow-up and next steps are shared with all staff and volunteers.
Supports and coordinates all Feerick Center fundraising volunteers and committees (Awards and Benefit and FriendRaiser), ensuring volunteers meet regularly and are engaged with the Center.
Manages logistics for all Feerick Center fundraising events (Awards and Benefit Reception, FriendRaiser) from conception to implementation, ensuring that the events run smoothly, are well attended, and that all goals for the event are exceeded.
Manages a portfolio consisting of Feerick Center prospects, builds and maintains that portfolio, and devises and implements solicitation strategies for each prospect in the pool.
Maintains frequent contact with donors through visits, correspondence, and telephone calls; encourages their attendance at key events throughout the year. Capable of asking for gifts across the mid-level and bottom of the gift pyramid, retaining and increasing giving from existing donors, and identifying new donors.
Utilizes Advance and Fundraising Performance Management systems to record moves, asks, and outcomes including contact reports, proposals, and gift commitments.
Coordinates with cross-functional teams (Communications, Alumni Relations, Advancement, etc.) on segmentation and outreach strategy for the Feerick Center’s events and giving campaigns.
Manages all social media aspects for the Feerick Center.
Maintains fundraising web pages (GiveCampus and iMods). Creates appeal codes and friendly URLs to track giving and special fundraising initiatives.
Collaborates with colleagues throughout Law Development to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies.
Develops and maintains relationships with faculty, staff, and volunteers associated with the Feerick Center; meets with colleagues across campus to coordinate and execute strategies, utilizing experience and knowledge to resolve conflicts and build consensus.
Required Qualifications: Education and Experience
Minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible development and leadership experience, demonstrating a successful track record in solicitation efforts.

Positive and creative manner of approaching issues; strong analytical skills and professional judgment.
Strong interpersonal skills, both written and oral, as well as a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings.
A general level of comfort when dealing with high-net-worth individuals, an ability to maintain discretion, and a high level of confidentiality when dealing with significant benefactors.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment; an ability and willingness to quickly learn the Law School’s history, mission, demographics, faculty, current programs, and departments, as well as the University culture.
Comfort with using personal computers, tablets, and software programs for retrieving, organizing, researching, and presenting appropriate donor/prospect information; proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
Analytical skills and ability to solve complex problems; ability to organize, prioritize, and complete multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree.
Experience with Ellucian CRM Advance and Blackbaud Fundraiser Performance Management.
Knowledge of and commitment to the goals of Jesuit education.
