Job summary

The Paseo Arts Association is seeking a Development Associate to oversee fundraising campaigns for all events and programs, including juried shows, FEAST, awards and festival. The role focuses on grant writing, donor engagement and sponsor relations to secure ongoing support.

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will collaborate across staff and board to develop donor communications, be involved in community outreach, and manage year‑round development operations with some evening and weekend

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, communications, business, nonprofit management, or related degree with two years of fundraising experience.
  • Love for the arts; enthusiasm for the PAA’s mission and nonprofit culture.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to develop donor-focused communications and community engagement initiatives.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with new donors and sponsors.
  • Write annual grant applications and reports for funders.
  • Coordinate fundraising activities for Paseo Arts Festival and other events.

Job description

  • The Development Associate oversees all fundraising campaigns for the Paseo Arts Association for all events and programs, including annual juried shows, FEAST, the Paseo Arts Awards and the Paseo Arts Festival. The position manages all grant writing including new grant applications and existing grant mid-term and final reports. The position also manages community engagement and development operations with the purpose to identify new events sponsors and annual donors while maintaining existing donor and sponsor relations for the Paseo Arts Association.
  • This position reports to and closely collaborates with the Executive Director, ensuring the continued success in fundraising efforts.The Development Associate also is expected to participate as a key staff member in all Paseo Arts Association activities and networking opportunities in the community. The position is full-time and year-round with some required evening and weekend activities.
  • This position must love the arts! Demonstrated interest in the arts or nonprofit cultural organizations with enthusiasm for the PAA’s mission is vital.
KeyResponsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, board of directors and staff to develop donor-focused communications, sponsorship recognition, impact stories and community engagement initiatives
  • Identifyandbuild relationships with newdonors,securinggiftstosupportthePAA
  • Developandimplementstrategiesforplannedgivingandsecurebequestsfromdonors
  • Cultivatenewdonorrelationshipswithindividuals, businessesandotherfundingorganizations
  • Identify new sponsorships for the Paseo Arts Festival
  • Assist the Executive Director in maintaining current donor and sponsor relationships by initiating and organizing partner meetings and phone calls as required
  • Work collaboratively alongside board Development committee and Community Outreach committee

Development Operations

  • Manageallsolicitation and communicationsto donorsand sponsors for the below:
  • -Annualjuried shows,FEAST, Paseo Arts Awards, Paseo Arts Festival
  • Manageallin-kind donationrequestsforvendors and venues for all events, including citycontracts for the Paseo Arts Festival.
  • Collaborate with committee and staff to plan fundraising activities for Paseo Arts Awards
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Membership Coordinator on annual PAA membership
  • Coordinateprinting, signing and distribution of letters for all fundraising campaigns
  • Work with staff to ensure proper recognition for all donors and sponsors
  • Workwithstafftocreatealldonor and sponsorcampaignmaterials
  • Monitordonorand sponsoranalyticsthrough database platform
  • Researchnewgrantopportunities and meet with prospective grant funders alongside the Executive Director
  • Write annual grant applications and mid-term and final grant reports for all funders
  • Maintain relationships with current grant funders alongside the Executive Director

Preferred Skills:
  • Proficiencyin Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Proficiency using an iMac (or willingness to learn)
  • Proficiency or familiarity with Little Green Light (Donor CRM platform) (or willingness to learn)
  • Collaborativemindset, demonstrable track record ofsuccessfullyworkingaspart ofproductiveteams
  • Demonstratedabilityto takeinitiative,think creativelyandproblem-solve
  • Equally adept at successfully working as part of a team as well as independently

  • Ability to assist with various event set up year-round and manual labor during a three-day outdoor festival

HOURSANDCOMPENSATION
  • Somenightsandweekendsrequiredforevents including the first Friday of every month.MustworkallthreedaysofthePaseoArtsFestival, Memorial Day weekend.
  • Commensuratewithexperience$50,000-$55,000 salaryrange
  • Benefits includehealth,dental,life, vision and disability insurance. Simple IRA afterone year.
