Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

Full Benefits and Hybrid Work Arrangement: Eligible for one day per week hybrid after probation.

Salary: Budgeted rate $29.35 to $30.73/hour; full range $29.35 to $42.06/hour.

Job Summary

The Development Assistant serves as the primary initial contact for six Directors of Development in the Engineering and the Sciences Development Office, providing essential administrative and financial support to the complex fundraising program. Assigned to at least three but up to six Directors, the assistant supports analysis, planning, and implementation strategies for the College of Engineering and the Division of Science, securing private donor support for research mission, while handling confidential, high‑profile matters involving senior university personnel and the donor community.

Responsibilities

50% Development and Donor Relations Support: Work independently with donor, prospect, fundraising, and gift data from the Advance database, analyze complex data to design comprehensive reports for Directors, prepare and update donor biographical profiles, communicate with donors, prospects, volunteers, trustees, key administrators, faculty, and community leaders, handle sensitive information, manage donation paperwork, coordinate with related units, maintain donor files, prepare gift reports and background data, serve as liaison with campus administrators, assist in planning and hosting donor cultivation events, and coordinate all event arrangements.

50% Administrative & Financial Support: Provide coordinated administrative support for Directors, manage multiple tasks, prepare executive correspondence, utilize Excel for data analysis, coordinate calendar scheduling, manage travel and entertainment arrangements, assist in event planning and coordination, complete university forms, manage budgets, monitor expenses, ensure compliance with university policies and audit requirements.

Special Conditions of Employment
  • May be called upon to work occasional evenings and weekends at various campus-wide events.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 1‑3 years of working in a busy office or work environment.
  • Typing speed of 64 wpm or higher.
  • High level of initiative, creativity and energy.
