Job Description
AHRC New York City is seeking a Development Coordinator to support their Foundation. The AHRC New York City Foundation (Foundation) is a fundraising and grant-making entity supporting programs for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New York City. It is the primary philanthropic supporter of AHRC New York City, a family-governed organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities build full lives, supported by families, staff, and community partners.

Salary: $40,000 per year plus a comprehensive benefits package. See Benefits section below.

Summary of Position
The Development Coordinator performs activities to identify, cultivate, solicit, and recognize support for the Foundation. Responsibilities include assisting with special events, processing donations, handling mailings, correspondence, ordering supplies, and maintaining files. This hybrid role involves work both on-site and remotely, coordinated with the Executive Director.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Enter gift, donor, and prospect information into the Foundation database; generate acknowledgment letters, reports, mailing lists, and labels accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with event-related tasks such as mailings, acknowledgments, data collection, and registration. Support fundraising and related events as needed.
  • Maintain organized filing systems, administrative procedures, and inventory of supplies and materials.
  • Handle bill payments and petty cash reconciliations.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Development Director.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree plus 6 months to 1 year of experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge or ability to learn new applications.
  • Strong administrative skills, office procedures, filing systems, and professional communication etiquette.
  • Ability to follow directions, perform recordkeeping activities accurately, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and procedural in approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written. Team player.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours as needed.
