Job summary

Riverdale Country School in New York City seeks an Development Associate to support major gifts, donor research, and events. The role reports to the Executive Director of Development and the Chief Development Officer, contributing to the annual fund and capital projects.

The associate will coordinate special events, maintain donor records, and assist with cultivation activities while collaborating with alumni relations and administration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree is required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of work experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Familiar with design programs such as Canva, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop.
• Experience with fundraising databases or programming a plus.
• Able to lead projects, balance priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication with alumni, parents, administration, faculty and students.
• Donor-centered, organized and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee on- and off-campus fundraising events.
• Assist with major gifts cultivation and donor stewardship.
• Maintain accurate donor records and follow up on cultivation activities.
• Support Development Committees with data, research reports, and logistics.
• Facilitate travel arrangements and conference registrations for the team.
