Trainee Field Technician – Water Industry

Location: North London

Hours: 40 hours per week (Day shifts)

Contract: Temporary to permanent

Our client is recruiting Trainee Field Technicians to join a forward‑thinking organisation delivering essential water services across North London. This is an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who enjoy hands‑on, outdoor work and want to develop specialist technical skills.

The Role

As a Trainee Field Technician, you will be trained to locate and identify leaks within underground water networks. Working as part of an experienced team, you’ll play a vital role in protecting water resources and supporting network efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with detailed surveys to identify the type and location of water leaks
• Support repair teams by providing accurate leak detection services
• Assist with survey and project work beyond day‑to‑day leak detection
• Complete all required paperwork accurately, including timesheets, survey forms, and leak reports
• Upload data using a laptop (basic computer skills required)
• Drive to sites as required (full, clean driving licence essential)

Full Training Will Be Provided, Including

• EUSR Water Hygiene Training
• Unit 2 Street Works Certification

No prior experience in the water industry is required—just the right attitude and willingness to learn.
