Job description

Developer Relations / Product Marketing Manager
Developer Relations / Product Marketing Manager

You will be the primary interface between TensorStax engineering and the external data engineering community. The mandate is clear: grow adoption and credibility among practitioners who already use high‑scale data platforms. You will create authoritative technical content, run developer programs, and shape product positioning to highlight TensorStax integrations and performance advantages.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop product positioning and messaging for data‑infrastructure engineers and architects
  • Produce deep‑technical content: benchmarks, reference architectures, white papers, how‑to guides, and conference talks
  • Deliver live and recorded demos that highlight integrations with Spark, Databricks, Trino, Airflow, and dbt
  • Build and moderate community channels: Slack, GitHub discussions, meetups, and conference workshops
  • Partner with Product Management on roadmap validation and early‑access programs
  • Work with Demand Generation to design campaigns that attract qualified users from data‑infra companies
  • Track and report DevRel metrics: content engagement, community growth, qualified sign‑ups, and feature adoption

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four or more years in developer advocacy, technical marketing, or solutions engineering for data‑infrastructure products such as Databricks, Snowflake, Confluent, Astronomer, or equivalent platforms
  • Hands‑on experience with Python and at least one additional language commonly used in data systems (Scala, Go, or SQL)
  • Demonstrated ability to explain distributed‑system internals and performance trade‑offs to senior engineers
  • Proven record of producing high‑quality technical artifacts that drive product adoption
  • Confident public speaker comfortable fielding in‑depth technical questions

Preferred Experience

  • Upstream contributions to open‑source data projects (Spark, Trino, Flink, DuckDB, Iceberg, DeltaLake)
  • Prior work with performance benchmarking, cost optimization, or capacity planning at petabyte scale
  • Familiarity with agentic AI or automated remediation systems for data pipelines
  • Established presence in the data‑engineering community: conference committee membership, podcast hosting, or community leadership
  • Employer‑paid health, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • BayClub or Equinox membership in SanFrancisco
  • Top‑tier hardware and any required software
