SkyPilot seeks a Developer Relations Engineer to grow our engineering community by building demos, wrappers, and integrations that engineers can run. You will author tutorials, deep-dives, and docs to teach how to run AI infrastructure well and deliver talks, workshops, and GitHub presence for credibility.
You’ll engage with the community, gather feedback for product, and help shape the open-source surface while maintaining a high standard of technical communication and advocacy.
SkyPilot accelerates the world's most ambitious AI teams. SkyPilot turns fragmented AI compute across clusters into one optimized, highly available and easy-to-use pool: a single AI supercomputer.
SkyPilot (10k+ GitHub stars, 18M+ downloads) manages the GPU fleets of 100s of companies, from Fortune 500s to top AI-natives like Abridge, Applied Compute, Mistral, Unconventional AI, H Company, and Nubank, with usage growing exponentially. Born in the UC Berkeley lab behind Spark and Databricks, our growing team includes top-tier talent from Databricks, Google, Berkeley, MIT, CMU, and Cornell. To date, SkyPilot has raised over $20M in seed funding from top investors (incl. Lux, Coatue, Amplify) and operators (incl. Ali Ghodsi, Jeff Dean, Guillermo Rauch, Amjad Masad, Clem Delangue, Aaron Levie).
SkyPilot grew on the strength of its developer community — the engineers who found it, ran it, and told the next team about it. We're hiring a Developer Relations Engineer to grow that community the way engineers respect: by building. You'll work in the open on real demos, example apps, wrappers, and integrations (e.g., Autoresearch), plus the technical content and talks that teach engineers how to run AI infrastructure well. You turn SkyPilot's engineering into things developers can run, learn from, and build on.
Build in the open: write demos, example apps, wrappers, and integrations that show developers what SkyPilot makes possible, with working code they can run.
Create technical content: write the tutorials, deep-dives, and docs that teach engineers how to run AI infrastructure well, and get them in front of the right communities.
Show up where developers are: talks, workshops, GitHub, forums, and conferences, as a credible engineer the community trusts.
Close the loop with product: carry what the community struggles with back to engineering, and help shape the open-source surface.
You’re an engineer who loves to teach: you can build a real project and then explain it in a way developers trust.
Strong coding ability (Python and/or Go), enough to build wrappers, demos, and integrations yourself.
You know cloud, Kubernetes, and/or GPU and ML workflows well enough to be credible with infrastructure engineers.
A track record of public technical work: content, talks, open source, example projects, or an audience you’ve built.
You are energized by developer community and open-source.
Competitive compensation and equity.
Comprehensive medical, dental, vision coverage for you and your dependents.
Company 401(k) plan.
The chance to work with some of the best minds in cloud, distributed, and AI systems — with significant autonomy and ownership.
A front-row seat at the latest open-source infra startup from Berkeley.
Gourmet lunch & dinner for the team to do their best work.
Location: San Mateo, CA. Remote will be considered for exceptional candidates.
