Job description

About Bruno

Bruno is the local-first, Git-native API client trusted by more than 4 million developers worldwide. From startups to Fortune 500 companies, engineering teams use Bruno to build, test, and collaborate on APIs without the complexity, cost, or security concerns of cloud-first tools.

Our community is at the heart of everything we do. Bruno is open source, and the developers who star, fork, contribute to, and advocate for the project are the reason we’ve grown this far. We’re now looking for someone to make that community their full-time job.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Developer Relations Engineer who gets energized by creating content developers actually want to consume, and by building relationships across the open source and API tooling ecosystem.

You’ll be the bridge between Bruno and the developers who use it: writing and producing technical content, engaging our community on GitHub and Discord, representing Bruno at conferences and meetups, and partnering with fellow OSS and API-centric companies on co-marketing and integrations.

This role is for a builder, not a broadcaster. You should love APIs, live in developer workflows, and have a track record of content that developers share because it’s useful — not because it’s marketing.

What You’ll Do
  • Create engaging technical content: blog posts, tutorials, videos, sample collections, and documentation that help developers get more out of Bruno and APIs in general.
  • Own our developer community: engage with users and contributors on GitHub and Discord, triage feedback, celebrate contributions, and turn community insights into product input.
  • Build partnerships with other open source and API-centric companies: co-authored content, joint webinars, integrations, and ecosystem collaborations.
  • Represent Bruno at conferences, meetups, and livestreams: give talks, run workshops, and demo the product to technical audiences.
  • Ship code: example projects, integrations, demo apps, and contributions to Bruno itself.
  • Measure what works: track content performance and community health, and double down on what resonates.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to shape roadmap based on what you hear from the community.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3-5 years of experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, technical content, or software engineering with a strong public presence.
  • A portfolio of developer-facing content: blog posts, videos, talks, open source projects, or courses. We’d love to see it.
  • Hands‑on technical skills: you’re comfortable writing code, building demos, and explaining APIs, Git, and modern development workflows with credibility.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication: you can make complex topics clear and enjoyable.
  • Experience engaging open source communities on GitHub, Discord, or similar platforms.
  • Self‑directed and comfortable owning projects end to end in a fast‑moving startup environment.
Bonus Points
  • You’ve contributed to or maintained an open source project.
  • Experience in the API tooling, testing, or developer productivity space.
  • Existing relationships in the OSS or API ecosystem.
  • Experience producing video content or hosting livestreams.
  • You’re already a Bruno user.
Why Join Bruno?
  • Shape the voice of a product that more than 4 million developers already love.
  • Significant creative ownership: your content, your community programs, your partnerships.
  • Work directly with founders and engineers, not through layers of marketing approval.
  • Join a fast‑growing, well‑funded company built on open source.
  • Competitive salary, equity, and benefits.
