Job summary

Ethereum Technologies is seeking an experienced data engineering professional to lead development, testing, and maintenance of data pipelines for healthcare datasets. The role emphasizes interoperability, dashboard creation, and automated workflows to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with SAS, Python, and R, plus strong SQL and HL7/FHIR knowledge.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience developing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting programs using SAS, Python, R, or similar languages.
• 8+ years of experience in system integration, dashboard development, and process automation to improve data interoperability.
• 8+ years of experience working with structured and semi-structured healthcare, public health, or complex administrative datasets.
• Strong knowledge of databases, data structures, and database querying techniques.
• 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions.
• 8+ years of experience testing and validating automated data integration workflows for data accuracy and reliability.
• 8+ years of documenting code, technical specifications, and workflows.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including epidemiologists and program staff.

Job Duties

Required Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience developing, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting programs using SAS, Python, R, or similar programming languages.
• 8+ years of experience in system integration, dashboard development, and process automation to improve data interoperability and operational efficiency.
• 8+ years of experience working with structured and semi-structured healthcare, public health, or complex administrative datasets.
• Strong knowledge of databases, data structures, and database querying techniques.
• 8+ years of experience gathering business requirements, conducting system needs assessments, and translating functional requirements into technical solutions.
• 8+ years of experience testing and validating automated data integration workflows to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
• 8+ years of experience documenting code, technical specifications, system requirements, workflows, and standard operating procedures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business users, epidemiologists, program staff, and technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience with Electronic Case Reporting (eCR/eICR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), or Health Information Exchange (HIE).
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including HL7, XML, FHIR, SNOMED CT, or other clinical terminology standards.
• 2+ years of experience with SQL, relational databases, public health surveillance systems, or healthcare registries.
• Experience with data linkage, record matching, automated data pipelines, ETL processes, and healthcare data integration.
• Experience developing dashboards and automating data processing workflows for public health or healthcare applications.
