Job Title: Developer III

Position Details:

• Contract
• C2 Eligibility Required
• Partial Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite and as Needed - The Tower
• Hours 9-5 - Some weekends, depending on issues, but should be very rarely/ & on-call.
• Interviews: In Person - Can support Remote (On Camera) if needed

Day To Day:

• Provide day-to-day support for application development teams utilizing mainframe development tools and utilities.
• Assist developers with troubleshooting development, testing, and implementation issues.
• Support code promotion, testing, and deployment activities.
• Partner with customers to identify process improvements and development efficiencies.
• Participate in modernization initiatives focused on improving developer productivity.
• Assist in maintaining development support documentation, standards, and procedures.
• Support application-level security administration and access requests as needed.
• Participate in vendor tooling initiatives, upgrades, and support activities.
• Assist with Disaster Recovery exercises and business continuity activities

Team: Tech Support / Mainframe Programming Support - Team is currently made up of 8 personnel, ranging from highly skilled mainframe programmers to newer programmers out of college. We work together to challenge each other, help each other grow and continue to support our customers as we look at how our mainframe software development lifecycle will be over the next 5-10 years and what tools/technologies we want to offer as the owners of the developer experience on the mainframe.

Responsibilities:

Perform all phases of applications systems analysis and design. Analyze systems specifications and develop applications to support information systems processes. Prepare detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written. Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain these programs. Formulates scope and objectives through research to develop or modify complex systems. 20% Ensure team members understand the business requirements that drive the analysis and design of quality technical solutions, organizational standards are maintained, and applications are delivered according to project timeliness. Provide expert system knowledge, perform research, attend meetings, and review documents. 20% Maintain and modify programs according to specifications. Code, compile, and implement application software that is delivered on time and within budget. Evaluate basic interrelationships in immediate programming area to determine how changes in one program will affect another related area. 20% Test modified programs, create necessary test files and data, verify logic, debug, and write relevant documentation. 20% Analyze production systems, recommend systems enhancements, provide instruction to production support team. Research customer issues and determine appropriate resolutions. Coordinate implementation of modifications or enhancements. 20% Analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems. Develop functional design and technical specifications, concept diagrams, and work flow diagrams and related procedures to process data using appropriate systems environment/platform.

Minimum Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong understanding of applications/development, quality assurance and integration methodologies, concepts and facilities in a mainframe, midrange, and/or PC/LAN environment. Strong analysis, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrates logical abstract thinking and assimilating/adhering to project goals and deadlines. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Able to work well under pressure and as part of a team. Strong knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building. Familiar with project management concepts. Pays attention to detail. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients, vendors etc.

Minimum Required Software and Other Tools:

Strong knowledge of relevant operating systems, programming languages, and development tools and their usage in the company.

Work Environment:

Customer-focused, project-oriented programming environment. Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.

Minimum Required Education:

Bachelor's degree-in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree.

Degree Equivalency:

4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job-related degree

Minimum Required Work Experience:

4 years-of application development, systems testing or other job-related experience.

Pay Transparency:

• This is the pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay someone for this position is $40.00/hour - $51.43/hour W-2.
