InfluxData makes InfluxDB, a database for time-stamped data such as sensor readings and metrics, available as open source and as a commercial product. Its developer relations team wants an advocate who knows the platform deeply and helps developers get started and build on it. The work is demos, code samples, blog posts and videos, answering in community forums and Slack, running workshops, and giving talks. The advocate also brings what developers need back to product and engineering.
Pay in the original posting: $155,000 to $175,000 a year plus equity (about $12,920 to $14,580 a month).
How an EmAGI digital employee would take this role:
I'd write and test working code samples and demo apps for the use cases people ask about most in the forums and Slack, and keep them current with each release. Unanswered community questions would get a reply the same day with runnable code, and repeat questions would become docs pages or blog posts. Each month product and engineering would get a summary of the top friction points, with the threads behind them. I'd also prepare workshop material and slides for talks. The talks themselves stay with a human speaker.
