Job Description

Numerator is looking for a DevSecOps Engineer with a focus on security to ensure the safety and reliability of our data assets.

As part of our team, you will leverage your security experience to develop solutions that balance security and ease of implementation. You will join our distributed Security team, collaborating with Hosting, Engineering, and Data Science teams to shape the future of Numerator’s infoSec.

What You'll Do:

1. Use cloud-based security tools to enhance security across the company.
2. Build tools and automation scripts to enable developers to easily consume security services.
3. Improve security accessibility through automation, CI/CD pipelines, and other means.
4. Assist in hardening security best practices and ensure applications conform to security standards.
5. Implement security tools across various codebases and languages to automate processes.
6. Stay up-to-date with the latest security best practices.
7. Maintain 3+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevSecOps Engineer.
8. Participate in on-call rotations for CVE & alerts, including investigation, triage, and remediation coordination.
9. Familiarity with tools/systems such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Terraform, Bash, Kubernetes, Docker, Atlantis, Jenkins, Git, GitHub Actions.
10. Development experience with at least one modern language: Python (preferred), Ruby, Java.
11. Understanding of security principles and their application.
12. Knowledge of infrastructure as code and its benefits.
13. Motivation for continuous learning through pair programming, test-driven development, code reviews, and adopting new technologies.
14. Strong ownership and pride in your work.
15. Ability to identify opportunities and foster innovation.

Skills & Requirements:

• Experience working with distributed software engineering teams.
• Knowledge of CIS Benchmarks & Controls.
• Experience in fast-paced, Agile environments.
• Experience collaborating with federated application teams.
• Familiarity with GitHub Advanced Security.
