Job summary

OpenTalent is seeking a software-focused engineer in Colorado Springs to perform tech planning, design, development, integration, and verification across the total system life cycle for space domain awareness.

You will work with containerized deployments (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker) and apply cyber security standards to HW/SW pipelines, while collaborating in an Agile environment and ensuring compliance with security clearance requirements.

Qualifications

• Containerization in cloud environments (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd).
• IaC experience: Ansible, Terraform, or Packer.
• Experience in Agile development using JIRA and Confluence.
• CI/CD with GitLab, ArgoCD; US citizen and able to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance.

• Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war
• Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness
• Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Performs tech planning, design, devel, integ, v&v for total syst life cycle. Analyses performed at all levels of syst product incl. concept, design, fabrication, test, instl, operation, maintenance & disposal, incorp design methods & stds for Cyber Security, SW & HW infrastructure. Designs, devels, docs, tests & debugs SW that contains logical & math solutions to business/mission problems/questions in computer language. Ensures the logical & syst conversion of customer/product reqs into total syst solutions that ack tech, sched, cost constraints & align to SW & HW deployment pipelines & factories. Performs func & timeline analysis, detail trade & reqs allocation & interface defs studies to translate customer reqs into HW & SW feature defs & acceptance criteria. Applies stds, processes, procedures & tools throughout the devel life cycle. Applies HW & SW knowledge, cyber security stds in business/mission apps, & feedback from users to develop SW. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles doc of program devel & analyzes syst capabilities to resolve program problems, output/input data acq, programming tech & controls. Ensures SW stds are met. Validates incorp of features & use cases into implemented designs

Basic Qualifications

• Experience with application containerization (Kubernetes, Helm, Docker, Containerd) in a cloud environment (AWS, Azure, OpenStack, OpenShift)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Ansible, Terraform, or Packer
• Experience working in an Agile development environment, using tools such as JIRA and Confluence
• Experience with CI/CD - Deployment pipelines, automated build, and configuration tools (Gitlab, ArgoCD)
• Must be a US Citizen; Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
