Job summary

Sunray IT Inc. in Tucson, Arizona is seeking an engineer focused on machine software and controls testing/validation for current and next‑generation heavy equipment.

You will plan and execute tests, validate software/controls features, troubleshoot electrical/electronic/software systems, and analyze test data. This hands-on role requires a BS in engineering, 1–2 years of experience, and comfort working outdoors around heavy machinery.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering is required.
• 1–2 years of experience.
• Testing/validation experience in heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial machinery.
• Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Strong attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.
• Comfortable working hands-on around heavy equipment and outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document machine-level software and controls testing.
• Develop test plans and validation procedures.
• Perform system checkouts and requirements validation.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, and software/controls systems.
• Work closely with engineers, mechanics, operators, and instrumentation technicians.
• Analyze test data using CANape, CANalyzer, Excel, Power BI, and MS Office.
• Support testing and validation of large mining equipment.

Role Summary
