Job summary

Google is hiring an Advanced Dev and AI Infra Software Engineer, Releases, XR in San Jose, CA. This role focuses on building scalable infrastructure and tools to accelerate XR software development and releases, while embedding AI-powered features into developer workflows.

You will lead design decisions, measure impact with metrics, collaborate across teams, and contribute to maintaining code health and release velocity at scale.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in Python, Java, Go, or C++.
• 5 years of experience in developing developer tools, automation frameworks, testing infrastructure, or CI/CD and release systems.
• 3 years of experience with software design, development and architecture.
• Experience applying AI/ML techniques to software engineering problems.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, deploy, maintain, enhance and stay abreast of the latest complex software solutions that improve the developer workflow, code quality, and release velocity.
• Lead the technical design and implementation of projects, making key architectural and technical decisions to scale the build and release infra and ship XR software updates to the external partners/end users.
• Define and track metrics to measure the impact of tools and process improvements on developer productivity and system health, increasingly leveraging AI/ML.
• Develop and integrate AI-powered features into developer tools to assist with code generation, code review, test generation, bug detection/triaging, and more.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams to understand their needs, gather requirements, and drive the adoption of new tools and best practices.
