Job summary

Labcorp, a global leader in laboratory services, seeks a Phlebotomist for an inpatient hospital position in Detroit, MI. The role involves venipuncture, specimen collection, data entry, and customer service with travel to additional sites.

Schedule is Monday–Friday with every other weekend, 10:30 PM–7:00 AM. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and 3+ months as a phlebotomist; preferred candidates have phlebotomy certification and 6+ months hospital/clinic experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program (preferred).
• 6 months or more experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital or clinic setting (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments when required.
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to all patients.
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
