Job summary

Sandstone Care in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Detox Therapist (PRN) to provide clinical support in detox, inpatient, and residential settings. The role includes leading therapy sessions, assessments, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe withdrawal management.

The position requires a master’s degree in behavioral health science and an active VA license, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience with ages 13–30. A flexible PRN schedule accompanies a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in behavioral health science (Clinical Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related field).
• Virginia license in good standing (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or related) required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with clients aged 13–30 in detox, residential, PHP, and/or IOP settings.
• Background check including criminal records and motor vehicle reports required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate evidence-based group and individual therapy sessions for clients with substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders.
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and billing standards.
• Participate in utilization reviews and medical necessity discussions with insurance providers as needed.
• Work collaboratively with the medical, psychiatric, and clinical team to ensure integrated care.

Education

Master’s degree in behavioral health science

3+ years of experience with detox/residential/IOP/PHP clients

Virginia license in good standing (LPC/LCSW/LMFT or related)
