Job summary

The Dimock Center is seeking a Behavioral Health Specialist for CSS Treatment Services to support patients through detox and early recovery within an interdisciplinary team.

You will monitor clients, assist with admissions, maintain safety, and provide compassionate care while coordinating with nursing and other staff. The role emphasizes documentation and patient interaction in a 24-hour stabilization setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in related field is preferred.
• Significant experience working with those suffering from Substance Use Disorder or other human services work is strongly preferred.
• Experience in medical or office settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Relate to clients and colleagues in a compassionate, professional, and respectful manner.
• Assure safety and support to all clients admitted to The Dimock Center.
• Assess, communicate effectively, and maintain therapeutic boundaries through setting limits and enforcing structure and rules.
• Support milieu staff in safety checks, searches, and admissions/discharge processes.
• Participate in creating a welcoming environment for new clients and ensure unit safety.
• Observe and report client health changes to Nursing staff; de-escalate when needed.
